Here the sport is document in 3pp by Lardner, who discusses its associations with prominent historical figures, its legal and moral issues, recent vice raids, and features images of duelling cocks, spectators/participants, and readying for a fight. Also featured is Casey Stengel (front, Ozzie Sweet ph.), boxing referees, Eddie Waitkus, John McGraw, Detroit hockey, Leo Durocher, Slammin' Sam Jackson Snead, boxer Joann Hagen, Kyle Rote, Andy Pafko, horseracing, Grover Cleveland Alexander, golf fashion, and smoking Kirk Douglas on the rear panel. This issue was produced with a few variant covers, all changing the white banner headlines on the front cover (this being the only one crediting Lardner's article on the front).
